FAQ
Why do silicone food containers and kitchenware turn yellow or black over time?
-
Soak in warm water with baking soda, or gently scrub with toothpaste. Avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight and high-temperature drying to slow discoloration
Silicone food containers do not seal properly and leak water or oil easily.
Check if the sealing ring is deformed or dirty; clean it thoroughly and reattach. Replace the sealing ring if it is deformed after long-term use.
Silicone absorbs strong odors that are hard to remove.
-
Soak in lemon water or white vinegar solution for 10–20 minutes, then rinse and air-dry. Avoid storing strongly flavored food for long periods.
Can silicone products be used in microwaves and ovens?
Food-grade, heat-resistant silicone (usually heat-resistant up to 200°C+) is generally safe for microwaves and ovens. Always follow the marked temperature range.
Do silicone spatulas or spoons melt or deform during cooking?
-
Quality food-grade silicone does not melt easily, but avoid dry heating or prolonged direct contact with an empty hot pan to prevent overheating damage.
Can silicone food containers be frozen or used for hot oil?
They are safe for freezing and warm food. Do not pour freshly boiled, extremely hot oil directly into them, as this may accelerate aging.
New silicone products have a strong smell—are they toxic?
-
A slight smell from new silicone is normal and will fade after 1–2 days of airing. If the odor is sharp and persistent, replace it with a certified product.
Silicone is greasy and hard to clean.
Rinse off oil with hot water first, then wash with dish soap. For stubborn grease, scrub with baking soda and a sponge.
Silicone lids do not stay on and fall off easily.
Make sure the contact surface is clean, dry, and oil-free. Press to release air before sealing for a tighter hold.
Can I scrub silicone kitchenware with steel wool?
Not recommended—steel wool scratches the surface and traps dirt. Use a sponge or soft cloth for cleaning.
